What is Public Domain?

(Note: Because this site has many users and contributers, we cannot gurantee that all images are in fact copyright free. We do try our best to remove copyrighted images from our site as soon as possible.
How can I help?
Wow! We are so excited that you asked that question. If you have taken a picture of a flower, plant, the sky.. heck even your childs first steps and you would like to share your picture with everyone and enter it into public domain, just register and upload. (Note, the picture cannot contain trademark names like coke, pepsi or any identifiable name. You are not able to take a picture of Mickey Mouse and post it (as cute as he may be) he is still a copyrighted entity.
Can I safely use the images on the website for anything?
We strive to make sure all images found on our website are copyright free, but there are no guarantees. We allow viewers and fans just like you to submit their own images into public domain. We also use various web sources such as government websites to add images for your enjoyment and use.
Can I just snag the source code of your site and past it into my blog, or website?
If you would like to use an image on our site for your own website, please save the file and use it freely. If you want to save your bandwidth and link an image directly from mypublicdomainimages.com, you may do so, but you must mention mypublicdomainimages.com. This at least gives us credit for where the image is hosted and doesn’t eat up our bandwidth and cost us a small fortune.
